January Jubilee 09

Kenny D. says; Following the workshop I attended in Houston Friday, I was privileged to work with Gulf Coast Imaging, owned by Coby James, covering the January Jubilee 09 Cheer & Dance Competition. The majority of the images I captured were taken in ambient light in a HS auditorium using a 1D mkIII with a 200mm f/1.8L I was able to capture a lot of the action in spite of the low, uneven lighting. Part of my day was spent in one of the gymnasiums capturing the event contestants with the help of strobes and a 70-200 f/2.8 IS. Saturday started early for us with the first contestant competing at 0655. The action was non stop in both the girls and boys gyms. If I recall correctly, the last image I captured was at ~10:45pm Saturday night. The level of talent was very diversified and I witnessed/photographed some amazing young ladies and a couple of amazing young men.
